Bali is still a popular location for digital nomads, even during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is affordable to live, their are a lot of friendly digital nomads and the people of Bali are so friendly. Their culture is amazing to me.
Bali has become one of the most popular destinations for digital nomads. Whether you’re looking for a short sightseeing trip, a longer workation, or even thinking of staying long-term, Bali is the kind of gorgeous place that you’ll never want to leave. I have been in Bali for more than 2 years some time ago and how during the pandemic I came back. Things are so different a lot has changed. But still the Bali people stayed the same, kind and friendly as always.
Being a Digital Nomad is amazing but even more if you live in Bali. There are a lot of different co-working spaces. You can live from 350 euros a month in a guesthouse but also you can decide tot take a villa which will cost you around 1.200 euros a month. You can make it as cheap or expensive as you want!
There are a lof of events going on in co-working spaces, but also in different cafe’s and in gym studios. You can think about breath work sessions, movie nights and network events.
Every day is something different here. You have daily activities you can do, no time to be bored. But this also means you have to be very dedicated and motivated to keep on working on your business. While temprature rises outside and you feel like sipping a coconut on the beach, you probably need to work as well.
What I notice a lot is that people find it difficult to stay productive in Bali. You really have to get yourself in a good routine and stick to it, if you want to make the Bali Digital Nomad Lifestyle work for you. A lot of people are here on holidays which is easy to get along with them. But you have to give yourself now and then a quick reminder that you are not on a holiday.
If you feel like being a digital nomad in Bali you have a lot of choices. You can choose to be more on the beach side like Canggu or Uluwatu or you can decide to be more in Nature and go to Ubud. All places have something nice to offer. I prefer Canggu because I love to be close to the ocean and do some activities during the week. Ubud and Uluwatu are a little bit less busy definitely at the moment. So if you are searching for a more quiet space then definitely check those places.
Don’t get fooled… It looks like everything is still normaly only less people, but the people of Bali have been hit really hard by this pandemic. I know a lot of local people that don’t have a job anymore, or have not enough clients to take care of their children. Eventhough Bali people will always smile and be very friendly and grateful, they have been through a difficult period. So be respecful when you come here and support the local businesses.
